Why do we require a non-refundable deposit?

The reason we require a non-refundable deposit is because we had a number of people in the past requesting specific dogs that were in prison.  Since they do not come out until their training is complete, we may need to hold the dog for several months.  Sometimes when a dog was ready to come out, we contacted the person who wanted him/her and were told they adopted a dog from the pound or they changed their minds.  We felt this was unfair to the greyhound as it left him/her still looking for a home and missed out on an opportunity with another family.  It was also unfair to the other people who had inquired about adopting him/her and were told the dog was being held for someone else. 

The $100 deposit may be refunded if Team Greyhound should determine the dog is not appropriate for your home.  It is NOT refundable should you change your mind and decide not to adopt the greyhound for which the deposit was placed.
