Perpetual Puff "Puff"
Her foster family says:
Perpetual Puff isn’t very puffy, but somehow this name seems to fit her. Puff is an energetic younger girl who adores people. In fact, she adores them so much, she doesn’t want them to leave! Puff has exhibited some separation anxiety, and her new family will need to understand this and be prepared to help her manage it. She has made progress in her foster home, and we expect that she will make more. If she must be left alone, she does best in a crate that is covered with a dark heavy blanket, with classical music playing. She also wears a pheromone collar that may help her relax. Fortunately, Puff is pretty portable: she loves car rides, she loves walks, and has no problem in crowds of people.
Puff’s favorite things include soft beds (including people beds), peanut butter (and she does lots of tricks to get it), and long walks. Without a long walk each day, she gets a little bit rowdy in the house, or as rowdy as lazy greyhounds get. She likes having stuffed animals around, and once or twice a day she picks them up and tosses them around a bit. She also very much enjoys affection; neck scratches are her favorite, and when you stop petting her, she nudges your hand with her nose to ask for more. She’s also mastered the “look”: without lifting her head, she raises her eyes and looks extra sad when she’s not getting enough attention.
Puff’s perfect family would have a lot of time to spend with her, and would be understanding of any setbacks she has with her separation anxiety. She would enjoy a busy household, though because she has a tendency to sleep startle, she needs a home with older children (6+ years old). She would love to have another dog in her forever home, and this would probably help her relax while her people are gone. She would love it if her family would include her in their outings too. More than anything, Puff needs a family who will return her unending love with commitment and understanding. Don’t you think you need some Puff in your life?
